Film-roll sampling before shipment: record exactly what was checked

A retained film sample is useful only when it can be traced to the roll and the part of the roll from which it was taken. We label the roll number, production time, winding direction, left or centre or right position, and the inspection performed.

Samples taken only from the outer wraps may miss a condition that appeared earlier in the run. The sampling plan therefore follows the agreed production and quality points, with results linked to the corresponding formulation and line record.

Keep enough sample for a later comparison

The retained length should support the intended visual, thickness, friction, sealing or other agreed checks. Seal and protect the sample from contamination and heat, and record who sampled it. If a customer raises a later question, both sides can return to the same identified material.
