Packaging-film barrier projects start with the package

Before discussing a barrier material, we need to know what is being packed and which path matters: oxygen, water vapour, aroma or another specific requirement. Shelf period, sealing method and the current film structure are part of the same question.

We then review where the barrier layer sits, whether the existing equipment can process it, and what the sealing and mechanical layers must continue to do. A laboratory value on its own cannot describe the finished package.

Bring the current structure and target

Send the layer structure, thickness of each layer, packed product, filling and storage conditions, current barrier data and required shelf period. If a current package is available, comparing it with the target package gives the project a much firmer starting point.
